We’re hiring a Digital Citizen Ambassador

Together with Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership we are currently recruiting for a new Digital Citizen Ambassador. The role of a Citizen Ambassador (CA), is to allow local people to independently influence and improve the development of services and ensure the views of patients, their carers and families are represented at all levels of any proposed changes. 

We need a richer understanding of community priorities and perceptions to influence and improve the quality of health and care services in Guildford & Waverley, North West Surrey, Surrey Downs and East Surrey.

Role Summary

Title: Digital Citizen Ambassador

Role: To be a full and active participant in the governance and leadership of a transformation programme at meetings and through related activity e.g. service visits / research projects (by agreement) and reporting back the outputs from active engagement with local citizens. To provide a constructive, alternative and independent perspective on discussions and decisions made within a designated transformation programme.

Responsible to: Healthwatch Surrey

Working Hours: 10 hours per month (to be worked flexibly), contract until February 2021 with the possibility of extension

Salary: £20.40 per hour, plus expenses

Based: Home based, with travel across Surrey

Main Responsibilities:

  • Attending Programme Board meetings
  • Conducting at least eight engagement events per year to engage with local communities, to develop an enhanced ‘live’ perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the service change
  • To report findings from Citizen Engagement and feedback into the workstream
