Meet our Luminus team members. Luminus is home to Healthwatch Surrey, Giving Carers a Voice and our Combating Drugs Partnership Public Involvement.

Our Healthwatch Surrey team are also supported by a large number of volunteers. Some of our volunteers are Authorised Representatives who undertake our Enter and View visits.

Kate Scribbins - Chief Executive

My role is to provide leadership and direction to the Healthwatch Surrey and wider Luminus team. I work with the staff team, the Board and Delivery Partners to achieve our strategic objectives, ensure we deliver on our contracts to a high standard, and work to ensure we have a sustainable and growing future. An important part of my job is building constructive relationships with the many key stakeholders in health and social care in Surrey.

Lisa Sian - Chief Operating Officer

My role as Chief Operating Officer means I am responsible for managing administration and new business. I also oversee Board support, data protection, policies, training, finance, recruitment and HR. An important part of my role is to ensure the smooth running of the office and business day-to-day for the team.

Samantha Botsford - Healthwatch Surrey Contract Manager

My role is to oversee the delivery of the Healthwatch Surrey contract. I am specifically responsible for managing the information and signposting service, projects, insight reports and our progress against our priorities and KPIs. I currently chair the Local Healthwatch Advisory Group. As part of my role I regularly represent Healthwatch Surrey to help inform Healthwatch England about what matters to the people of Surrey.

Sarah Browne - Engagement Manager

My main responsibility is to ensure we get feedback about local services from Surrey residents including those from seldom heard groups and key neighbourhoods. I oversee the engagement team and work closely with evidence and insight, volunteers, place leads, VCSE groups and community leaders to ensure we use a coordinated and focused place / people-based approach.
My other main job role is to manage the Community Voice projects for Luminus where the client requires engagement to deliver a specific project aim.

Natalie Markall -Executive PA and Administration Officer

A large part of my role is assisting the Chief Executive and Chief Operations Officer in their roles. I help manage their diaries, along with arranging meetings, typing up board and team meeting minutes, helping process expenses and many other administrative duties. I am also the administrator for the team and a large part of this role is ensuring the office runs smoothly. I work alongside the Communication and Involvement Officer to create some of our visual marketing and to keep the website up to date.

Vicky Rushworth - Communications and Involvement Officer

As the Communications and Involvement Officer I am responsible for internal and external communications, helping to raise awareness of, and promote, our services, encouraging people to tell us about their experiences of health and social care and ensuring people are aware of the impacts our work can achieve. I network and engage with local community groups to also help spread the word. I am also keen to ensure our communications are accessible to a wide audience, helping us to hear the voices of as many of our community as possible. I am also the Place Lead for Surrey Downs.

Julie Callin - Healthwatch Surrey Projects Officer

I am the Projects Officer. I have been inspired how Healthwatch Surrey work as an independent champion by listening to, empowering and representing the public and service user voice. I work on specific projects and am Priority lead for involvement of people. I am currently working on a hospital project, to engage with people to hear their views about giving feedback to their hospital.

Adam Connelly - Healthwatch Surrey Insight & Engagement Officer

My role supports both our community engagement and insight gathering functions, ensuring that patients’ experiences are shared with those responsible for planning and delivering services. I work closely with our volunteers and various community groups to support the delivery of our community engagement strategy and work to empower the voices of those who are less well served by services or those who may face significant barriers to accessing the care they require. As part of my role, I am also the Place Lead for East Surrey and Priority Lead for mental health.

Katharine Newman - Healthwatch Surrey Intelligence Officer

In my role as Intelligence Officer, I collate insight from our database and other ‘soft’ intelligence sources to ensure that the team is up to date with what Surrey residents are telling us. I am also Place Lead for North West Surrey and Priority Lead for social care.

My key role is working on our Helpdesk, ensuring Surrey residents get the information and advice they require. I also ensure our team have this information when they are undertaking engagement and that our website signposting information is up to date.

Abby Rodd - Healthwatch Surrey Insight and Influence Officer

In my role as Insight and Influence Officer I work with the engagement and helpdesk teams to gather insights from local residents and to offer advice, signposting and support. I utilise the insights gathered to identify and analyse themes and trends and ensure that these guide our service. Specifically, I am responsible for creating content for both the residents of Surrey and NHS and social care providers which reflect the gaps in knowledge which they share with us. I am also the Place Lead for Guildford and Waverley.

Kathryn Edwards - Healthwatch Surrey Community Engagement Officer

I am the Community Engagement Officer at Healthwatch Surrey, I’m out and about in Surrey in the heart of the community listening to people's experiences of health and social care, finding out what's working well and what can be improved. We can also help people by providing information and signposting. The valuable feedback we hear is key to improving how we all access services, your voice really can make a difference. I am also Priority Lead for primary care.

Hannah Gilmour - Healthwatch Surrey Volunteer and Engagement Officer

I am the Volunteer and Engagement Officer at Healthwatch Surrey. My role is to support all our volunteers across Surrey – this includes recruiting and inducting new volunteers, training, and making sure that all our community engagements and projects are well supported. As part of the Engagement team, I am also out and about in the community, listening to people’s experiences of health and social care and feeding this back to help shape the way services are improved upon in the future.

Lisa Roberts - Giving Carers a Voice Project & Involvement Manager

I am the Project and Involvement Manager as part of the Giving Carers a Voice contract. I care passionately about carers and my role is now to ensure that the voice of carers is represented in key system meetings, advocating for them and then feeding back the outcomes to carers in Surrey. I’ll be whizzing around Surrey and dropping into the carers hubs and so I hope to get to meet as many carers as possible and hear their views and opinions. If you see me, please come and say hello! I have been a young carer and also an adult carer, so I have lived experience of the challenges that carers face every single day. It’s a real privilege to be able to represent carers in Surrey.

I am the Insight and Admin Officer as part of the Giving Carers a Voice contract.
My role includes helping to organise events with a view to reaching local unpaid carers and giving them a platform to feedback their experiences.
As a carer myself, I feel passionately about the importance and value of engaging with carers to ensure that their opinions and experiences are heard.

Pam Howard - Giving Young Carers a Voice Engagement Officer

I'm Pam the Giving Young Carers A Voice Engagement Officer.
My part of the Giving Carers Voice team is to be the voice of young carers and provide feedback to crucial meetings ensuring that young carers' challenges and service requirements are listened to, not overlooked, and the barriers are addressed.
Having been a carer myself, I'm passionate about making sure the services available are suitable for those accessing them. I know how hard it can be to balance caring responsibilities with education, work and social life.

Christy Dadswell

My role is to plan and deliver our substance use engagement activity and to ensure to we hear from those living with substance use in sectors of the community, including those not engaging with treatment services, those who are less well served by services, who may face barriers to accessing services and who may be at risk of heath inequalities.
A key part of my role is to build relationships with community groups, service providers and other substance support organisations to help raise awareness of our feedback service and to identify opportunities for partnership working.
