Surrey Sight Loss Council launching this summer - opportunity to volunteer

Sight Loss Councils, funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust, are regional groups led by blind and partially sighted volunteers. Together, they use their lived experience to tackle the issues that really matter to blind and partially sighted people every day.
On a dark blue image there are various icons arranged in 2 rows - on the top row an online survey, hands raised in the air and speech bubbles; on the bottom row a happy face, a neutral face and a sad face. To the top left corner and bottom right corner are the Healthwatch Surrey speech marks.

Surrey Sight Loss Council will work closely with Sight for Surrey and Surrey Coalition to further improve goods and services for blind and partially sighted people.

The Sight Loss Council need 8 - 12 blind and partically sighted people to become volunteers and support their work.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Work with local service providers and policymakers to improve access for blind and partially sighted people
  • Share your experiences and ideas with a team of like minded volunteers
  • Influence positive change in transport, retail, arts & culture, health, and more

No experience needed - just your lived experience and passion to make a difference.
