NHS Health Checks
If you are between 40 and 74 - do you know about NHS Health Checks - would you attend them if invited? A recent report by Healthwatch England shows that men are willing to attend for certain screening if invited.

A recent report by Healthwatch England (Men would come forward for prostate cancer screening), highlights that 79% of men would come forward for prostate cancer testing if invited as part of any future national prostate screening programme. Whilst that is great news, there is currently there is no national screening programme like there is for bowel, breast and other major cancers, although a PSA test can be requested.
As Healthwatch Surrey, we are really keen to hear your views about NHS Health Checks in general. These health checks are for people aged 40 – 74. We are asking:
- If you have been invited?,
- Did you attend?
- If not, what might encourage you?
We will be asking people we meet when out and about in the community, but you can also take part by completing our online survey: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/HwSyNHSHealthChecks2025/
Our survey closes on 31 December, and 5 people who complete the survey before that date will be selected at random to receive a £10 Love 2 Shop voucher.
If you cannot access the survey online, or would prefer to share your story in your own words please contact our Helpdesk who also provide information and signposting about health and social care services.
