Safety of clinics offering Botox and other cosmetic procedures – consultation closes 28 October 2023

This Department of Health and Social Care consultation seeks views on whether procedures should be carried out only by regulated healthcare professionals and only from CQC regulated premises. Age limits for treatments are also proposed. It comes after 3,000 complaints were received in 2022 – mostly about dermal fillers or Botox. Although these kinds of clinics are private services, the impact of any mistakes on the physical and mental health of customers can end up falling back on the NHS, so efforts to be improve patient safety are welcome.
