Adult Inpatient Survey 2025 – focus group call

25th July 2025

Have you had an overnight stay in a hospital in the last 6 months?

Are you age 16 or over?

The 2025 Adult Inpatient Survey (IP25) is coordinated by the Survey Coordination Centre (SCC) at Picker. They coordinate the survey at a national level as part of the NHS Patient Survey Programme (NPSP), on behalf of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

They need to recruit patients to participate in focus groups to help develop the 2025 Adult Inpatient Survey. They would like to recruit a selection of patients across England to join a 90-minute informal patient group discussion on their experiences of using NHS inpatient services. Feedback from these discussions will help to develop the 2025 Adult Inpatient questionnaire.

Key information:

  • Two focus groups will be conducted virtually with max. 5 patients in each group.
  • Each focus group discussion will last up to 90 minutes
  • Each focus group will be led by a researcher from the SCC team
  • Participants will be rewarded for their participation with a £60 ‘Love to shop’ or ‘Amazon’ voucher.

Who can take part?

They are looking for people who are 16 years or older, who have used an NHS Adult Inpatient service at least once in the last 6 months. Participants will be asked to complete a simple screening survey to ensure a representative sample.

How can patients take part?
