Update: Council’s Cabinet considers results of consultation on future of older people’s homes
The council’s decision-making Cabinet will consider the future of its six residential care homes for older people at a meeting on Tuesday 10 March 2015.
A report will go to the Cabinet with recommendations on the future of the homes for them to accept or reject.
The report, along with background papers and the results of the three-month public consultation, will be published on the council website on Friday 27 February 2015, ten days before the Cabinet meeting.
Responses to the council’s online and paper survey, which ran from 30 October 2014 to 31 January 2015, are being collated and analysed, along with two petitions organised by trade union representatives. This information will be included in the supporting evidence in the Cabinet report.
There has also been a programme of large meetings, question-and-answer sessions and briefings with staff, residents and their families at all six homes. In addition there have been a series of smaller meetings to provide further opportunities to meet with relatives and carers.
The care homes affected are:
- Longfield in Cranleigh
- Cobgates in Farnham
- Brockhurst in Ottershaw
- Park Hall in Reigate
- Pinehurst in Camberley
- Dormers in Caterham
