Non-Executive Directors wanted

11th February 2015

Could you make a real difference to health and social care services in Surrey?

Healthwatch Surrey is the ‘Voice of the Consumer’ in Health and Social Care in Surrey.  We are integrated with the Health and Social Care system, but independent from it – ensuring that the views of people in Surrey are heard and properly taken into account, to improve existing services and develop new ones.  We are building an organisation that gathers good data and evidence, which we use to influence policy and operational decision-making right across the County.

As part of our development we now require three additional high-calibre volunteer non-executive directors to join the Healthwatch Surrey Community Interest Company (CIC) Board.  The roles entail determining organisational strategy and policy as well as undertaking leadership and representational work.  One of the new roles will also be responsible for providing the Board with assurance regarding the company’s financial affairs, for which a financial qualification will be a distinct advantage.  The other two roles require more general leadership and senior management/board level experience.

You do not need to be an expert in health or social care, but it is important that you have a passion for making a difference, an enthusiasm to work with others to bring this about, and good communication skills to motivate and influence people in positive ways.
