South East Coast Ambulance Research Day
June 11 @ 10:00 am - July 4 @ 5:00 pm
Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement in Research Day.
South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) has seen an encouraging increase in participation in research over the last two years, and the Research and Development Department (RDD) are looking to expand our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) even further in this area.
To find out more about this, why not join their Public Research Day on the 4th July 2018 in Crawley? (Please see below, how to reserve your tickets for this event.)
SECAMB believe that those closest to the point of care are in the best place to help us improve through research. We want to involve not only SECAmb Staff, but also our patients, patients’ relatives or carers, and interested members of the public (as potential service users). The National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) says that ‘patients and the public should be at the heart of research at every stage, from design to dissemination’ so we want to meet you and find out about your ideas as to how patients, and members of the public, can join us in the future research activity of the Trust.
You are invited to the event in Crawley on the 4th of July where you will hear about the research that we are doing now, as well as some plans for studies for the future. It is an excellent opportunity to discover how you can become involved in current and future projects.
There will be Information on a variety of our research studies, such as what factors influence whether people go to hospital or whether they can safely be treated at home; what impact specialist paramedics (Critical Care Paramedics) have on patients’ outcomes in cardiac arrest; improving mental health awareness amongst emergency service personnel; and clinical assessment in people having a stroke. We will also be outlining what other research we have lined up for SECAmb in the next 12 months, and with your help, we can start planning for research studies beyond 2019,
The event will be held on 4th of July at 10 am (refreshments and lunch provided) and will be held in the Longley Suite of the Arora Hotel, Southgate Ave, Crawley RH10 6LW. Situated in the centre of Crawley, the Arora is a 6-minute walk from Crawley railway station and has ample free on-site parking for those travelling by road.
Tickets need to be booked in advance (to allow us to know numbers attending), and can be reserved, free of charge, using this link:
